Circuit board industry: a few happy families
The 2011 International Circuit Board and Electronics Assembly Exhibition was held in Shenzhen yesterday. More than 350 leading suppliers from home and abroad attended the conference. The reporters found that the current status of the circuit board industry can be described as “a few happy families”.
A senior manufacturer of flexible circuit board substrates in Guangdong told reporters that the circuit board industry has been declining since the middle of this year, and next year is not optimistic, and the industry boom may turn after the next year. At present, large manufacturers are less affected, while medium and small manufacturers are not even receiving orders, and the problem of overcapacity in the industry is highlighted. Therefore, the manufacturer said that they are currently upgrading their products on the one hand, and on the other hand, production has begun to shift to some new products.
Mr. Zhao Bingyao, Chief Consultant of the Automotive and Electronics Division of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, pointed out in his speech yesterday that with the environmental concerns of the government policy and the technological advancement of the lighting industry, LED lighting has developed rapidly in many countries in recent years.
When talking about the impact of LED on the circuit board industry, the above-mentioned manufacturers said that LED is currently in its infancy, market space has not been opened, and the proportion of sales revenue is relatively low, but PCB (printed circuit board) manufacturers are mostly actively preparing for energy. Eat this big cake.
A Suzhou-based company that produces high-end PCBs told reporters that they mainly produce circuit boards for mobile phones. Overall, this year is slightly lighter, as markets such as Europe and India have shrunk. However, the manufacturer is more optimistic next year. "Next year will be better than this year. Because domestic mobile phones are developing in the direction of popularizing smart phones; mobile phones in foreign countries such as India, Africa, and South America are not popular, and the market space is large, and the company is also In the field of intervention in automobiles, industrial control, etc."
According to estimates by the International Electronics Industry Association, there will be 1 billion smartphone shipments in 2015. According to ABI Research data, smartphone shipments last year were 302 million, a year-on-year increase of 71%.
Related companies in the domestic circuit board industry include Shengyi Technology, Ultrasonic Electronics, Tianjin Pulin, and Zhongjing Electronics.
